University of California Davis
The University of California, Davis (UC Davis) is the largest of the 10 University of California campuses, situated at the heart of such a productive and diverse agriculture. The Davis campus has three undergraduate colleges - Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, Engineering, and Letters and Science - and the following professional schools and colleges: Veterinary Medicine, Medicine, Law and Management.
UC Davis is internationally known for its contributions to agriculture, representing the most cited research university in the nation in the areas of agricultural sciences, ecology and environmental sciences, and food science and nutrition (Institute for Scientific Information, 2002). The College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences houses 28 departments and research units, 500 faculty, 4,600 undergraduate students and approximately 1,000 graduate students. Many faculty members enjoy international distinction for innovative accomplishments in the plant, animal, pest, environmental, nutritional and social sciences.
